house of malia

In 1993, we started Malia Mills with a simple idea –
to engineer tops by bra size, to cut bottoms to SHOW OFF
a variety of shapes… to EMPOWER women to stand and
stride to the water.

Today, we have a designer SWIMWEAR COLLECTION
created for the vixen within. We also have a fresh collection of READY TO WEAR, LINGERIE and delicious ACCESSORIES - all LOVINGLY MADE IN AMERICA and curated in Malia Mills boutiques across the country.

We’re passionate about CELEBRATING women and articulating an inspiring voice on the subject of WOMEN and beauty.

malia and i flew out west a few weeks back to spend some quality time with our california stores. we were pretty much non-stop from when we touched down at LAX, but don’t think that i didn’t find a moment here or there to jump in the water, or lay out for a few to soak up some of the sun hanging out behind the june gloom. my go-to suit, our black pamela top and limbo bottom combo could usually be found drying on the luggage rack in our room – good to go by the next dip! on land, i was grateful for my inhabit cotton essentials tank - a very necessary little buddy that i snapped up our first day at the mm brentwood store, after feeling that i was traveling one tank top too light. it’s been the perfect base for everything, retains its shape after a couple of wears - and yes, dries pretty darned fast after a wash in the hotel sink. on the cool breezy nights we spent up in montecito - with a few of our fabulous mm gals hanh, arta and kati - i lived in my inhabit cashmere crew. i love the adjustability of the button detail at the shoulder; those four buttons can speak volumes. after repeating a variation of the same look on the road, i love to throw on one of epice’s brightly patterned scarves, and tie it into a loose knot. a great printed scarf breaks things up in ways that i really jam on, and always fools me into thinking that i’m rocking something totally new. it’s a pretty loveable little trick. after a stretch in newport with a sweet bit of santa barbara in the middle, we were back in LA and on our way over to spend the day with katie and melissa at our store in the brentwood country mart. our last full day before i flew back east, we found ourselves with one of those perfect cloudless los angeles skies. i packed my karen walker shades with me – it was such a perfect day and i’m glad i’m spent it with our LA babes. just before sunset, malia and i hit the santa monica beach with my west coast best gal for a chilly and fabulous photoshoot. i suited up for the drive and threw our getaway bag over my shoulder, my jeans and sweater, purse and beach gear happily nestled inside. as for beauty on the road i like to keep things easy. travel size roll on fragrance from mcmc — my fave is maine, khiel’s spf moisturizer and a red hot red lip courtesy of nars - heatwave. sometimes i get some buildup in my locks when traveling, so i picked up some white vinegar from the vons market in montecito. ten minutes later and i had a new head of hair - all for a $1.49. the best part is malia got to road trip with a gal who smells like a salad. everybody wins! - alex, mm buyer extraordinaire
